One Man, Many Stories

For more than two decades, I have been blessed to earn a living telling the stories of people from all walks of life. Elite athletes. Community saints. High-flying executives. Grieving parents. Big names. No names.

Now I want to tell your story.

Having carved out a career as an award-winning feature writer, I’ve come to realise the best stories often belong to those people who never get the chance to tell them. The ordinary men and women who quietly go about living the most extraordinary of lives until one day they are gone – and so too are their priceless memories and insights.

Word Portrait is about more than life stories though.

It’s about celebrating a wedding anniversary by reliving the romance that led to it. It’s about joining an adventurous soul on their back-breaking, knee-grinding, life-changing trek along the Kokoda Trail. It’s about capturing the highs and lows of a family business that just keeps on keeping on. It’s about remembering the fighting spirit of a little girl as she battled a childhood illness - and presenting her with those memories in the most intimate of keepsakes at her 21st birthday party.

Word Portrait is about ensuring the stories that make us who we are can be shared now and long after we’re gone. Being entrusted with transforming someone’s memories into a Word Portrait is a task I don’t take lightly. It’s also one I’m grateful for each and every day.
